Have had this installed for two months now. Initially was functioning properly. About two weeks ago started noticing condensation inside the camera. Update 1/6/18: Was contacted by seller about my issue. A replacement was sent and has been installed for a couple of weeks now. So far no issues. I was very pleased with the customer service that I received.
Worked great the first time I wired it up. I have it matted to my Kenwood DNN991HD head unit. For the "reverse sensing" I ran the lead directly from the backup light lead. This backup camera was a tremendous improvement over the camera it replaced. Daytime image quality is excellent. Night time image quality is much better than I expected. I especially like the lines already incorporated into the camera not like the previous one I had which required separate wiring.

If the camera worked during the night half as well as it does during the day I would easily give this camera a 4 or 5 star rating. I installed this by myself in about a hour. The wire was long enough to reach all the way from the rear license plate to the dash of my 3/4 ton Silverado crew cab short box. However the wire is extremely thin. After installing I tested it and it seemed to work perfectly. But later that night I went some where and seemed to get no signal at all on the monitor. The next morning it worked. I have never seen the ir leds come on at all. I tried to get in contact with esky over a week ago but have not heard back.
Esky product support got in contact with me and worked with me patiently for about a month troubleshooting the camera. They went so far as to send me another camera for free because they thought the other was defective. Turns out the wireing harness I chose to use has a green wire (reverse), yellow wire ( turn signal), a black wire (ground), and a dark brown wire (tail lights) that was so dark it confused everyone as being a second black wire. So once I hooked into the correct wire the camera works flawlessly.
It's the best. Rain tested, car wash tested. 100% buy it.
Installed this last night. Installation was straight forward. I ended up using security screws instead of hex bolts since I didn't want to remove the plastic nuts installed on my truck bumper. I did have to grind down the outer edge of the screws a little so they would fit. These are the same license plate security screws you can purchase at an auto store. For my particular installation I would have preferred round recessed bolt holes instead of the hex holes. Frame seems to be well made and sturdy. The camera section is plastic with a visible split line between the two halves. Hopefully it was well sealed. Image is good. I'd say comparable to the factory camera in our 2013 Odyssey. Ignore the lines in the attached picture, those are only visible because of my phone camera.
Just got done installing this on a 2009 Jeep Liberty, Seems like a very solid camera that should withstand the elements. It's a pretty straightforward installation.
The Jeep already had two notches in the bottom of the license plate brow so I ran the wire through one of them and passed it through the opening for the lift gate handle. I decided to use a wireless transmitter to save some time running wire and was able to tuck the transmitter in to one of the many openings in the lift gate.
The picture is actually really clear during full light and also clear in total darkness. See the attached pictures for samples. The distance lines are a plus and I used the closest (red) line as my 6" mark. The view I get extends beyond both sides of the vehicle. Aiming the camera is pretty simple thanks to the tension screws being on the bottom of the camera. Also, once mounted the frame and camera just barely cover the top portion of your license plate. Depending on your registered state you may have the name of the state at the top of your license plate and if it is covered (even partially) by this camera then you may be stopped for it. Just to give a heads up.
Overall, this seems like a good product and I will update my review after a few months of use.
This camera is way better than any other ones I've installed. The camera shows full color even at night. I'm very impressed and will buy another.
Great price for an awesome camera. The frame is metal and super rigid so no worries about longevity. Camera quality is equal to if not better than factory installed cameras.
